Educational Policy Student Bios
My research interests focus on K-12 reform, specifically interventions that improve students’ academic and behavioral performance.
My academic research centers around the pillars of education, equity, and policy at the intersection of democracy and justice in education. I have specific interest in the impact of legislation, past and present, on Black educators. My other research passion is criminal legal system reform, which I advocate for through a podcast alongside my partner.
I am the Teaching & Learning Engagement Librarian in the University Libraries. I am interested in the educational role of libraries in higher education and the role of librarians as teachers.
My areas of interests include the how the interplay of federal, state, and local education policy impact access and equity in K-12 arts education; how the variance of policy implementation and access to arts learning opportunities impacts student academic and psychosocial outcomes; and policy strategies for increasing access to well-rounded and high-quality arts education for all K-12 students.
