  • TLED 6050 Multiple Perspectives on Teaching and Learning: MA (3)
  • TLED 6053 Balanced Assessment for Teaching and Learning (3) OR assessment course approved by faculty advisor
  • TLED 6808 Critical and Cultural Perspectives in Teaching and Learning (3)

Research Requirement (3 hours)

Select ONE of the courses below or one that is approved by your faculty advisor

  • TLED 6052 Classroom-Based Inquiry: MA (3)
  • TLED 7010 Diverse Approaches to Research on Teaching and Learning (3)

Specialization Requirements (18 hours)

Required Courses (9)

  • TLTED 5600 Language as a Resource: The Functions of Language in Teaching and Learning (3)
  • TLTED 5613 Core Practices in World Language Education (3)
  • TLCTE 8891 Exploring Whiteness (3) (or equivalent course approved by advisor)

Elective Courses (Choose 9 hours)

  • TLCTE 5365 Linguistics for Literacy Education (3)
  • TLTED 5610 Literacy Development for Multilingual Learners (3)
  • TLTED 5612 Methods for K-12 World Language Education (3)
  • TLTED 5615 Methods and Culture in TESOL (3)

Final Examination (1-3 hours)

Students must select either a Thesis or Non-Thesis option and must be registered for at least 3 credit hours the term of graduation.
