4-Year Career Ready Plan
1st Year: Be Ready to Start Exploring
- Create a resume and activate your Handshake account
- Become acquainted with EHE Career Development office on campus
- Look for ways to gain exposure to career fields you’re interested in through internships, volunteering, and part-time and summer jobs.
- Join a student organization related to your planned major.
2nd Year: Be Ready to reflect, connect, and assess goals.
- Begin to define your interests, skills, and values related to your major.
- Attend career events throughout the year.
- Update your resume and have it critiqued by a career professional.
- Strengthen transferable skills by obtaining a part-time job, summer job, internship, or volunteer experience.
3rd Year: Be Ready to grow from discovery and Experiences
- Research career options and visit the EHE Career Development Office
- Obtain experience in the field for grad school or employment
- Update resume & mock interview
- Attend career events throughout the year.
4th Year: Demonstrate they are Ready for Career Success
- Start the job search/apply to grad school – 6-9 months before graduation
- Attend career events throughout the year.
- Network and research companies, Apply for positions
- Ask for recommendation letters or reference letters
