Biography

Rebecca (Becky) Crandall is a senior lecturer in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program. She also serves as coordinator of HESA’s Student Personnel Assistantship program. A scholar-practitioner with more than a decade of experience in student affairs roles, her research concentrates on questions relevant to the success and development of student populations that have traditionally been labeled “at-risk.” Primarily, she focuses on intercollegiate athletes, religious minority students and LGBTQ students.

Crandall was the 2017 recipient of the Jon C. Dalton Institute on College Student Values Dissertation of the Year award and the 2017 ACPA Commission for Professional Preparation Burns B. Crookston Doctoral Research Award. She earned her PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis with a specialization in Higher Education from North Carolina State University in 2016.
