Kimberly Lightle

Kimberly Lightle received her PhD in Educational Studies in 1995 from The Ohio State University, College of Education with a focus on science teacher education. Her first position after graduating was with the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC), a project housed in the OSU College of Education and has been with the college ever since. She has been funded through five National Science Foundation programs (National STEM Digital Library, Discovery Research K-12, International Polar Year, Climate Change Education, and Geoscience Education) as well as the Ohio Board of Regents and NASA with budgets totaling more than $7 million. In her current position, Director of the EHE Office of Research, she directs the daily operations of the College of Education and Human Ecology Office of Research including developing systems within the college for communicating funding opportunities and research accomplishments, including oversight of the Office web presence and publications. She is building relationships with colleagues across the university, with community partners, professional organizations, and with local school districts to expand the EHE pool of project collaborators. Dr. Lightle is developing enrichment programs for faculty that stimulate collaborative research and provide training in fundamental issues related to solicitation and administrative management of grants and contracts.
