Resources for college success
We want to see you succeed. To support you, our college and the university offer resources ranging from Student Success Workshops to Affinity Groups.
Our goal is to support you
The College of Education and Human Ecology focuses on enhancing your academic study skills and overall academic performance. If you need academic assistance, our retention specialist will provide proactive outreach and support.
If you’re looking for help, check out the following offerings. Support may be in the form of campus updates, college updates, advice about study skills, referral to financial resources, campus resources and more. It all depends on your situation.
We want you to become the best version of yourself while in college.
Student Success Workshops
These workshops are offered once a month throughout the academic year. We help you develop and enhance your study skills to maximize your efficiency.
At these workshops, you will learn about time management, organization, note-taking, tackling exams, combatting test anxiety and procrastination and more.
Affinity Groups
Our affinity groups engage you with your peers, our retention specialist, staff and faculty. We want to enhance your academic journey while you’re here.
We provide academic and resource support to specific student populations. We support all EHE students, helping you gain a sense of pride in your college. We also offer a place to belong within the larger university. Join your peers to form a tight-knit community. Make the connections that establish your college support system.
- EHE 1st Gen- This affinity group supports those who identify as a first-generation college student. This means your parents or other caregivers did not earn a four-year degree, even if siblings did. As a first-gen student, your unique academic and social needs differ from those of other student populations. We hope to provide meaningful support during your time here, both within and outside of the classroom.
- EHE Hangouts- This affinity group, for all EHE students, is more all encompassing. Our retention specialist supports you in your academics, for example in help with study skills. I strive to connect you to the college’s faculty and staff and to each other. This group aims to create a tighter-knit community among all our students.
Office of Equity, Diversity, and Global Engagement (EDGE)
Our college’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Global Engagement houses our Global Hub. This program will help you find resources to enhance your learning through international experiences. You can even earn a global designation on your transcript. Expand your horizons. Learn how you can be involved in our inclusive and positive community.
