Leave of Absence for Graduate Associates

We understand that there may be an instance where a graduate associate (GA) might require a leave of absence to care for themselves and/or family. Since every situation is different, the College of Education and Human Ecology, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Graduate School and Office of Human Resources, will individually review requests for a leave of absence. GA leave requests can be submitted online through the following forms:

  1. Personal, Professional Development, and Short-Term Sick/Bereavement (1-3 days) leave request
  2. Parental and Long-Term Sick/Bereavement (more than 3 days) leave request

As both a student and employee, there are certain policies and procedures you must follow, but we are here to help guide you through the process. Any GA who has questions and/or would like to discuss a leave of absence should contact the Graduate Associate Manager, Amanda Crall, who will guide you through the leave process. The Graduate Associate Manager can assist the GA, supervisor, and department through the process.
