Charlie Knerr is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Human Development and Family Science. She is the Clinical Director for the Couple and Family Therapy area of study in the Human Development and Family Studies program. Charlie provides oversight of the Ohio State Couple and Family Therapy Clinic and the CFT placement sites in the community. Her research experience includes being selected as a collaborating investigator by the American Psychiatric Association, performing clinical field trials for the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5®). Charlie was appointed to the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapy Board in 2012 by Governor Kasich and is currently serving as chairperson for the second time.
Charlie has a successful group practice in Dublin, Ohio, where in addition to providing therapy, she also provides systemic consultative services to executives of social service agencies, educational systems, health care systems, religious communities, and political systems.
