Wellness

At Ohio State, your health and wellness are a priority. We understand as a graduate associate, you have a wide variety of responsibilities that you must balance. Which is why we encourage you to take advantage of the free resources at Ohio State to support your academic and personal success.

Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS)
Provides a variety of confidential support services to current students and spouses/partners of students who are covered by the Comprehensive Student Health Insurance. CCS counselors provide support through a wide range of issues that can cause barriers to learning, such as strained relationships, increased anxiety, alcohol/drug problems, feeling down, adjusting to campus, difficulty concentrating, and lack of motivation. They provide one-on-one in-person counseling, group meetings, multi-lingual services, drop-in workshops, and phone screenings just to name a few.

If you prefer to talk to someone over the phone or outside of CCS hours, 24-hour emergency help is available through the 24/7 National Prevention Hotline at 1-(800)-273-TALK or at suicidepreventionlifeline.org.

Student Life Disability Services (SLDS)
Collaborates with and empowers students who have disabilities in order to coordinate support services and programs that enable equal access to an education and university life. If you anticipate or experience academic barriers based on your disability, we encourage you to work with SLDS and your instructors to coordinate services to support your academic success.

Student Wellness Center
Provides students with a wide variety of resources to support your personal development using the 9 Dimensions of Wellness model to help you reach your personal and professional goals while helping you reduce stress and create balance in your life. Services offered include one-on-one wellness coaching, wellness assessments, nutrition coaching, financial coaching, and alcohol, tobacco, and other drug programming.

Student Advocacy
Offers services to help students navigate and resolve issues that they may encounter at the university, including health and personal crises, appeals, petitions, and financial emergencies.

The Office of Military and Veterans Services
Offers a wide range of academic and social support programs and services for current veterans, dependents, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve members.

RUOK? Buckeyes
Is an anonymous and interactive program to identify students at-risk of suicide and provide resources to encourage them to get help. Students can take an online stress and depression survey that is then evaluated by a qualified university counselor who will provide a personalized written assessment and opportunities to interact with a counselor online. The portal permits anonymous and confidential communication to protect participants.

SMART Lab
Provides a variety of individual and group activities throughout the academic year to teach students how to manage stress and develop resiliency skills, such as individual biofeedback sessions, stress management and meditation training, and a veterans relaxation group.

The College of Education and Human Ecology Meditation and Reflection Room located in Arps Hall, room 191 provides a quiet, private space to meditate, worship, and reflect.

Nursing Mother/Lactation Rooms
Find locations available on each campus and at the university medical complex. Lactation rooms are available to students, faculty, and staff.

Buckeye Food Alliance
Provides food for any enrolled OSU student who is experiencing food insecurity.
