Dietetic Internship

Program Costs

Tuition for the Dietetic Internship program are $9,700. Tuition is the same for Ohio and out-of-state interns. An Ohio State application fee of $40 is nonrefundable. Upon acceptance to the program, a $100 nonrefundable down payment is due. The remaining balance is due by the first day of internship orientation.

Other expected expenses with variable costs include: Housing and other living expenses, health insurance, proof of vaccinations, tuberculosis test (required annually), physical exam, transcripts, parking and other miscellaneous costs.

During the internship, the program will cover costs for: the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics annual meeting, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (travel and accommodations not included), some textbooks, background check, Ohio State parking pass and drug screening.

Financial aid

You are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and state and local dietetic associations.

Students in the Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship program are NOT eligible for federal loans as the internship is noncredit, but loan deferment is possible. Private loans may be an option. If a private loan will be necessary, please contact the internship director for more information.

Part-time work may be difficult for full-time track interns to schedule given the expectations of the internship. The schedule of any outside jobs must be flexible enough to accommodate the schedule of facilities to which interns are assigned or course work in which they are engaged.
