Endorsement Field Requirement Form

Students can fulfill the Field Requirement through one of the following options:

  • OPTION 1: Pre-service and in-service teachers may provide a signed form (see page 2) from your direct supervisor* (i.e. principal, building supervisor, mentor teacher) explicitly stating that you have completed at least 50 field hours with students in the appropriate grades or content areas (see table above). Students enrolled in a degree program (M.Ed. or B.S.Ed.) at OSU, will not be permitted to register to utilize any field hours prior to enrollment in EDUTL 4189 for this requirement.
    *Students that are in-progress or have completed a Bachelor of Education in Early or Middle Childhood Education on a regional campus (Newark, Mansfield, Marion, or Lima) can submit proof of the appropriate contact hours by completing the form on page two and providing a signature from their academic program area representative.
  • OPTION 2: Successfully complete EDUTL 5189.XX: Early Childhood (5189.11), Middle Childhood Generalist (5189.22), or Bilingual Endorsement Field Experience (5189.33); 1 credit hour. **
    **Students completing coursework regionally should note that registration for EDUTL 5399 will result in a field placement in proximity to whichever campus on which they register.
  • TESOL ONLY: Students will complete a total of 30 hours of field experience in their culminating EDUTL 5189.66 course. The remaining 20 hours is to be accumulated during other required courses and individually managed experiences. Documentation of the remaining 20 hours should be provided on the form below.
