Pre-Kindergarten Special Needs Endorsement
Teachers who already hold a K-12 intervention specialist or K-5 early childhood teaching license can apply for admission to this endorsement program. Upon completion of this program, students will be endorsed to teach children with special needs in pre-kindergarten settings.
Program Requirements
Prerequisites
- Candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Candidates must hold a valid resident educator or professional educator license issued by the State of Ohio.
Program Start
Spring, Summer, and Autumn
Deadline to apply
November 1 for spring semester;
June 1 for autumn semester;
March 1 for summer term
Additional Requirements
- Must take and pass Educators and the Opioid Crisis, Ohio Standard for Pupil Services, Computer Science and Computational Thinking modules.
- There is a $5 fee which supports the technical infrastructure needed to deliver and maintain the modules.
- Must take and pass the Ohio Assessment for Educators
Minimum Program hours

Field Experience: A minimum of 50 clock hours of field experience for each additional endorsement added to an existing teaching license.
