MS in Consumer Sciences, Fashion and Retail Studies
A master’s degree in Fashion and Retail Studies prepares you for leadership roles and opportunities in both academia and the industry. Students in Fashion and Retail Studies investigate the fashion industry and related retail operations from local and global perspectives. Through a social justice lens the curriculum includes courses in ethics, sourcing, history, merchandising, fashion theory, environmental issues, and corporate social responsibility. Our graduates move into leadership positions including, but not limited to, industry (corporate offices, entrepreneurship, etc.) doctoral programs, and academic teaching positions.

Student Opportunities
Fashion and Retail Studies graduate students are encouraged to participate in student organization activities including (but not limited to) student membership in the International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA), the Student Association of the National Retail Federation, BRAG (Black Retailers Apparel Group) and the National Honor Society Phi Upsilon Omicron
